Film

8mm - Super 8mm

All files are rendered to a .mp4 file format that is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux.

8mm and Super 8mm films are scanned frame by frame at 1440x1080 and are then rendered to a 16:9 (1920x1080) ratio at 60fps, with a 10mb bitrate. Rendering in 16:9 allows for manual, freeform cropping and removal of boarder overflow that appears during the initial scan. This allows for the maximization of the viewing area. The viewing area of the file will not change from it’s original aspect ratio, and is not stretched to fill a 16:9 viewing area.

After cropping, films will be moderately stabilized to remove some camera shaking that is inevitable in most 8mm and Super 8mm  films. Some colour correction may be applied after discussion.
